Dr. Rowell Retires

Message from Dr. Rowell:

Thirty-five years ago, I returned to Salem joining my father, Peter P. Rowell, MD, in the practice of ophthalmology. What I didn’t know then was the great joy I would experience from the numerous patient and family relationships formed over the decades while providing medical and vision care in our community.

My original plan to retire in July, 2020 came sooner than expected with the the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, I missed the opportunity to say goodbye to many long-time patients and friends. Yet, while I am stepping away from my professional career, I am looking forward to this next phase in my life, and can honestly say I will be enjoying every minute of it.

I want to thank all of my patients for placing your trust in me over the past thirty-five years. To my amazing medical associates and professional staff, past and present, I want to thank you for your support and teamwork. It has been my honor to work with each and every one of you, and it has been your friendship and loyalty that has made such a wonderful and fulfilling medical career in Salem possible.

Sincerely,

David P. Rowell, MD
